Elive 3.8.46 released

The Elive Team is pleased to announce the release of 3.8.46

Our Christmas Gift: After years of waiting for the New Enlightenment desktop E26 in Elive, we have finally started the development and this is the first version that includes it! The desktop is not yet fully ready, it still lacks some integrations with the OS, correct designs, and there are some instabilities in the desktop, but you can already start playing with it! :) However, this should not be a concern, as E16 is still included as the stable option, featuring years of development being integrated correctly in Elive makes it the perfect stable choice for your daily work! This new version includes also:

• Installer: Numerous fixes and improvements: resolved issues with EFI systems, improved architecture settings for the bootloader, added features to clean up old EFI entries, added an option for swapfile creation, and integrated BTRFS with default transparent real-time compression.
• Captive Portal Wi-Fi logins implemented from the applications menu
• Tablet-like Computers: Automatically rotates if the default position is incorrectly set to vertical (E16)
• Wine: Improved Windows compatibility for application installation.
• Menus and Applications: Improved organization and cleanup.
• Desktop: Additional hotkeys for multimedia keyboards and other customization improvements.

New Enlightenment is here!: After several years of waiting for the new Enlightenment desktop, we have finally started development. This is the first version, which includes an alpha version of it, ready for you to try! But don’t worry, we still maintain our solid-rock stability by providing our highly stabilized and integrated E16 desktop, which you can select at any time during your user login.
